Plaster Celtic Contractors Ltd.

This prestigious office development in the heart of London, overlooking the Thames, has a futuristic and inspirational interior. The design brief was to provide innovative lighting features with a focal point to the open plan breakout and refreshment areas. The featured ceiling had to be seamless and the set-out was crucial to blend with the carpet design underneath.

Key Achievements

Effective working relationships throughout the project, in particular pushing early design matters through and working on details / interfaces. The strong co-ordination between the Sub-contractor and the M&E Contractors preventing confusion on site. The GRG (glass reinforced gypsum) areas were very detailed and took time to set out and agree the correct scope and sequencing for all trades. The project team worked well with all Health and Safety requirements. The Sub-contractor was awarded Contractor of the Month from ISG along with one of their operatives being awarded Operative of the Month.

Key Challenges

The challenge was to design and install a lighting module within the plaster ceiling, complete with audio visual and air conditioning outlets. Soft lighting fins are all individual sized and angled with no repetitive geometric shapes. The contractor provided detailed design and installation and were awarded Contractor of the Month for Safety and Quality of Workmanship.
