  • Individual engineering of timber substructure for shaped ceiling
  • Wave-like lining of the ceiling – precise execution
  • Rounded lining around circular windows
  • Very high quality of surface finishing proofed namely in difficult lighting conditions
  • Close cooperation with the architect to achieve the desired yacht-like appearance
The owner of this family house located in a small town of Kamenice near Prague is an enthusiastic yachtsman. The homeowner told the architect he wanted the house to resemble a yacht and be environmentally friendly. It is a passive standard, diffusion open timber log cabin. It is probably the first and only passive house in the CZ with circular windows. There are more unusual architectural and technical elements such as the number and slope of parts of the roof, the shape of the suspended ceilings, and the insulation material and heat recuperation. The architect drafted the shape of the house during the first session with the owner. The first idea was then developed into the unusual and individual environmentally friendly design. This state of the art wood “cabin” which resembles a yacht is a refined technologically-loaded family residence. The interior uses up-to date and shaped dry-wall systems, as can be seen by looking at the wave-like ceiling above the staircase and in the private gym.

The internal space of the house is quite complicated: a number of intersecting surfaces, sometimes curved, creating an illusion of the interior of a ship. The suspended ceiling above the staircase formed in several waves required custom-made wooden substructures stabile enough to support the lining of special Glasroc F Riflex gypsum board. The perfectly executed ellipsoid lining above and around the circular windows with highly demanding lighting conditions is a proof of the installer´s expertise.

The turn-key project was finalized within an incredible 90 days.

Each project is developed in close cooperation with the future owner from the design to the execution and up to the final hand-over and possible maintenance. The scope of their projects reache from a simple family house to a large individual family residence. It could be an individual house or development of a number of houses in the same locality.
