As part of its ambitious growth plans, luxury retailer Flannels is upgrading and opening new stores across the UK and Ireland with unique use of British Gypsum ThistlePro DuraFinish to create opulent, high specification sites. The project covering several stores resulted in 10% of total DuraFinish plaster sales for 2019.

Key Achievements

  • DuraFinish contributed to extra robustness for the retail environment and to define the brand colours and identity throughout the store

  • Testing new and innovative solutions led to achieving looks like the exposed gold plasterboard

Key Challenges

Not only did the design, products and finish need to give a luxurious and opulent feel in keeping with the Flannels brand and ensuring customers had a premium shopping experience, but the end result needed to deal with withstand regular knocks, bumps and scrapes from shoppers and store staff.

New and innovative ways to use British Gypsum products, including leaving the DuraFinish exposed, meaning it had to be applied perfectly to achieve the luxurious look required.
